Young Heroes Present Pitches to Local Businesses

This summer, Urban Hope partnered with Beyu Caffe and BB&T for the inaugural Next Generations Entrepreneurship Challenge. Next Gen is an innovative and collaborative social entrepreneurship challenge designed to equip and inspire Black and Latino/a youth to become entrepreneurs, while engaging and promoting current black-owned businesses in the city. For this challenge, Dorian Bolden, the owner of Beyu Caffe, tasked the kids to create entertainment packages based on products and services offered at Beyu that could be marketed to clients at BB&T Bank. The winning team will take home a cash prize.

Urban Hope's Next Gen Entrepreneurship presentations will take place this coming Tuesday, July 25th from 11am to 12pm at American Underground, 201 West Main Street, Durham, NC 27701 (in the 2nd floor training room). If you cannot join us for the presentations, please come and celebrate with the kids and their families that evening at 5:30pm at Beyu Caffe as we reflect on what we learned and where we are going from here.

This is what it looks like to raise up generations of young heroes from Walltown to Black Wall Street!
